About Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd.

Vision, Strategy and Performance
Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd. is a Canadian-based corporation acquiring and exploring for oil and gas in the Australasian region.

The Company has secured a 100% interest in two lightly explored exploration permit areas totaling 2.16 million acres in the East Coast Basin of New Zealand, an area highly perspective for a world-class oil and gas discovery. Trans-Orient's operational strategy is to:

  • Evaluate and rapidly commercialize the historical Waitangi Hill oil discovery;
  • Drill high-impact exploration targets;
  • Utilize new technology to pursue a major unconventional resource opportunity.
Our primary targets are the oil-and-gas-rich fractured Waipawa Black Shale and Whangai Shale source rock formations, which have many similarities to the successful fractured shale plays now being developed across North America.

Trans-Orient's ultimate objective is to become a leading Australasian explorer, and establish a large oil and gas reserve base that can contribute to, and benefit from, the world's insatiable demand for energy.

"The company has an unsurpassed knowledge base of the area and its geology, and can call on appropriate expertise to assist it in its endeavours."
Dr. David Bennett,
